EO Group Acquires Eurostat and Appoints John Browett as Chairman

EO Group, the parent company of Euroffice and Office Power, has announced the acquisition of UK dealer Eurostat Office Solutions.

Founded in 1991, Eurostat is one of the largest independent office supplies companies in the UK.  Under the leadership of Stefan Mercado, it has grown to over 60 people with offices in London, Sheffield, Bristol and Brighton.

EO Group CEO Simon Drakeford said "the strategic fit is perfect and the benefit of acquiring Eurostat will be felt across all parts of our business; which further validates our technology and the success our platform has in organising dealer networks."

Mercado added "After 27 years it was time to step down and hand over to a new team that would inject the modern tech, vitality and strategic direction that Eurostat now needs.  I believe I have found the ideal partner to do that."

EO Group is also delighted to announce that John Browett has been appointed Chairman.

John has extensive experience across various senior management roles in retail, technology and M&A, including CEO positions at Dixons, Dunelm and Tesco.com.  He was global VP of Apple Retail and also held non-executive roles at Octopus and Easyjet.

Commenting on his appointment, John explained "EO Group is already an incredibly successful organisation, but its plans for future growth and development of all its brands will take it to the next level.  I'm honoured to be a part of the next chapter in the EO story and I can't wait to draw on my experience working with successful retail and technology brands to help drive it forward."

Derek Elliott, Managing Partner of Darwin Private Equity commented "We are delighted to have successfully completed the acquisition of Eurostat and we welcome John Browett as Chairman of the Group at this exciting time and look forward to working with him."
