Attenda Appoints New Non-Executive Chairman

 

Attenda Limited, the Business Critical IT company, today announced the appointment of Simon Downing as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, following on from its acquisition by Darwin Private Equity in August 2011. 

Commenting on the appointment, Mark Fowle, CEO, Attenda says “I would like to extend a big welcome to Simon who I am sure will contribute greatly to the next stage of our development.” 

Simon has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. He was responsible for the formation of Civica following the successful buyout of a UK listed software business with Alchemy Partners in January 2000. He then led the IPO of Civica plc in March 2004 and the subsequent growth and expansion of the Group. In May 2008, Simon led the team that completed the management buyout of Civica plc with 3i, and since then he has led the next phase of growth to a turnover of over £180m in 2011. Simon is the current CEO of Civica. 

Simon brings to Attenda his expertise in managed services and IT outsourcing, with market sector specialisation extending from local authorities to large banks.
